On Emirati Women's Day, Etihad Airways, the UAE's national carrier, proudly marked its 20th anniversary by celebrating its achievements in empowering Emirati women within the aviation industry. The airline revealed that nearly half of its UAE national workforce consists of Emirati women, reflecting its dedication to cultivating local talent. Over the past two decades, Etihad has earned a reputation for fostering Emirati talent through various programs designed to equip professionals with essential skills. Key initiatives include the Etihad Cadet Pilot Programme, the Graduate Manager Programme, and specialized training for technicians and engineers, all contributing to a skilled and diverse workforce of Emirati women. This commitment has led to significant representation of Emirati women in diverse roles, including pilots, cabin crew, aircraft technicians, and engineers, as well as in professions such as medical doctors, trainers, and lawyers. Emirati women have also thrived in core business roles and leadership positions. Since its founding, Etihad has implemented innovative strategies to empower Emirati women and enhance the UAE workforce. Notable milestones include the establishment of the Global Business Service Solutions revenue accounting center in Al Ain in 2016 and the launch of its all-female Al Ain call center in 2011. These initiatives underscore Etihad’s commitment to advancing female talent in aviation by providing vital training and development opportunities.
